Attitude Is Everything

There is nothing more than I dislike than someone with a terrible attitude.  Depressed about wanting to lose weight or about their career.   The lack of motivation is one of the most unattractive qualities about a person.

Don't complain about being fat, hit the gym and make a difference for yourself.  Have a drive and passion for something and dream to reach a goal.  You may not know what you want to do with your life, but make a goal for ANYTHING and do whatever it takes to get there.   Career, self or even school.

My passion is to be a role model for others to look up to.  I love to inspire and encourage others to go after their passion.  It's the most rewarding feeling when someone tells me that I am the reason they chose to go after what they want, just by encouraging them and assuring them that they can make it if they go after what they want.  I believe everyone has a potential for what they want to achieve.

Life is about taking the chances and running with it.  There is no written rule that you HAVE to finish school or HAVE to get married at a certain age, YOU make your own "rules".  I've said it before, but moving away and going for what I wanted was the absolute best decision I have ever made.  Though I am back in Arizona, I have goals and am not done chasing them, I never will be. I have contant motivation to never give up and its all about your attitude.

Do you want it?  Don't give yourself pity & make it happen.

Run

The dreaded words no one likes to hear, "run" or "cardio".

When someone wants to lose weight and asks me for tips or they complain about their weight, I have one piece of advice, running.  The truth is, running is the single best exercise you can do.  It doesn't have to be fast at all.

For example, I run at 5.0 mph on the treadmill for about twenty minutes and incorporate walking at 4.0 mph.  Throw on your headphones or turn on a good hour television show, it helps keep your mind off the long.dreaded.run.

Workout for about 45 minutes to an hour.  That does not mean one hour from the time you step into the gym to the time you walk out.  It means the number on the treadmill says 60 minutes or the reps and sets consist of a solid workout.

If you're a new gym rat then just walk for an hour!  Working out daily helps your mind stay focused on eating and living healthy.

It just takes that little push and I hope this can do just that for you :)

Changes

Wow, what a year it has been!  I have been through so much and been everywhere, it feels like.  So many amazing opportunities have come my way and I have definitely been blessed.

A year and a half ago, I made the best decision of my life.  I moved to Los Angeles, CA and pursued my modeling career.  It was scary.  I took a year off of school, I left everything I knew and had to start all over;  I had no one to go to, make new friends and teach myself "the business".

Luckily, I met the most amazing people along the way.  I gained some of the most important people in my life and I am truly blessed.  There were tough times when I felt all alone and wanted to hop on the next flight to Arizona.  It was my "safe zone", the place I grew up and felt the most comfortable, it was easy.

The next toughest decision in my life was choosing to move back to Arizona.  My thoughts were everywhere and I was so confused on what decision to make.  I wanted to finish school and eventually move back and work at the fashion PR company, Bollare.  I interned there in LA and absolutely fell in love, I know it's where I want to be for my career.

My thoughts have been non stop about what I want to do.  My mom always jokes that I am so indecisive.  One day I want to live in New York and the next I want to move back to LA.  One thing I know is that, my move back has reassured me that, LA is where I want to be.  I definitely have my goals set for these next 9 months.  I encourage you to make a goal for yourself and make a daily action to get closer to achieving it.  Nothing beats the feeling of following your dreams.

I want to travel and experience as much as I can while I'm young.  I may not know exactly where I will be in the next year, but I have a goal and will find a way to get there.

Also, If you have a chance, take a minute to vote for the August issue as your favorite, THANKS!

I will be posting much more often even though my schedule is non-stop.
Have a dream and make it your goal.
